Here are some facts about Maori language week

 

Te Reo

This week we  have been learning the meaning of New Zealand place names and locating them on a map

Visual language

We are looking at static images. This week the image is from 

Charlie's Superhero Under pants by Lee Wildish. I looked at Modality for my DLO.

 

Vocabulary

This week we were learning the names of baby animals. I chose to do a DLO on  a dog.

We looked at a image from the book tiger from Nick Butterworth. Here is the DLO to explain one of the elements we talked about.

 

Wharenui

This was our Te Reo task. we needed to draw and label the parts of a wharenui.

 

Proverbs

Proverbs tell us little sayings that make a point. They are not always true.

 

Hexagon Art

We looked at the work of Chandler Klebs. Then we made our own art that used hexagons and alternating colours.
